This coming year FloristWare is going to be sponsoring two business sessions at the 2014 NEFE (Northeast Floral Expo) in Mystic CT. It is an exciting opportunity and I'm really happy to be able to support this association and show after hearing so many good things about them over the years.
Content presented a bit of a challenge. The speakers FloristWare has sponsored in the past (primarily Tim Huckabee and Rick Rivers) were not available and we had to look elsewhere. Rick and Tim are both so good I was worried we wouldn't be able to find anyone with as much to offer.
It may have been a blessing in disguise! We ended up finding Nancy Butler, a really outstanding speaker and author who will bring something new and exciting to the shops.
Nancy started a small business with virtually nothing. She realized that in order to grow she was going to have to develop affordable marketing and PR techniques that would bring in not just sales but referrals and service strategies that would keep them loyal. It worked very well and she was able to sell her business.
It has been a pleasure dealing with Nancy and the volunteers of the Connecticut Florists Association and I'm really excited about the event.
There are many different accreditations, certifications and designations a florist can receive and use after their name. A new guide explains all of them.
